At age 77, Marlou Newkirk fell in love with writing. She took a class, joined a writers’ group and then another and another. At 82, she finally fulfilled her dream: she became a published writer. Since then, she has gone on to become an award-winning author of both short stories and magazine articles.
Now, at 86, she is proud to be releasing her first book of poetry. Before becoming a writer, Marlou earned a doctorate in Education from Columbia University and spent many years at the forefront of adult education in New York City.
